Just the other day I was asked by a family why I spend so many hours on my website and now my blog. At first I was sort of offended by the question. But the longer I thought about it the more it made me realize why I am so passionate about what I do.

I later shared with my wife the details of the thought process I had gone through after being asked that question and I explained to her that few people do what they do for a living because they are passionate about it. When I get an idea for reaching out to more people and improving the quality of their lives through my site I can't wait to sit down at my computer and make it happen.

As she listened intently I reminded her of a movie we had watched with our kids called "Facing the Giants" in which a football coach at a Christian high school was facing tremendous pressure internally as well as externally as a result of his teams inability to put together a winning season during the previous 6 years. Many of the parents wanted the guy tossed out.

One night as he is leaving the school building he overhears the comments of parents who have called a meeting specifically to discuss how they should get rid of the coach and bring in someone new. Well, as you can imagine this guy was shocked and went home extremely discouraged. He spends the night beating himself up over the matter. As his wife wakes up in the middle of the night to find him in this state of mind she reminds him that he simply needs to put his faith in God.

Well, that morning he is seen walking in an open field with Bible in hand and praying to God. What this coach did not realize was that there was an older gentleman who had spent years walking the halls of the school and praying for all the students and teachers. Later that day this gentleman walks into the coach's office and tells him a story about 2 landowners who had been praying for rain because there had been a drought in the area for years. One finally decides that he is going to go out into his field and sow his seed even though there was no visible sign of rain. The gentlemen then asks the coach, "which man do you think received the rain?", to which the coach replies "the one who went out and planted seed in preparation for the rain".

I share this story with you today to ask you, "what is your motivation?". Are you willing to go out everyday and sow seed in your field in preparation for the rain? Unless you're living out in death valley at some point you will get some rain.

The reason that you see your old web page is because your computer memory is still holding the old cache of your website. Just as a refresher, cloaking keywords merely involves finding more and more natural ways for your keywords to appear in your articles...thus making them more invisible to the reader and still very visible to the search engine bots.

And although at first glance it might make perfect sense to place your most important keywords at the BEGINNING and at the END of every sentence, those positions certainly have more of a 'spam' quality to them. By leading with or ending on the main points of our sentences, we call a ton of attention to them. And as a reader, it's almost thrown in our faces what the writer is weaving his way AWAY FROM (when the keywords lead off the sentence) and TOWARD (when they appear at the end.)

In advertising, when we see this, we say that 'your creative brief is showing' meaning you're being way too obvious.

Some people want to be obvious. And its fine to be. But I keep looking for better and better ways to write persuasive, content-thick pieces.

Now, what does all of this have to do with the S.A.T.'s? In my professional opinion...a lot.

Did you know that the correct answer on the S.A.T. tests is most usually the letter 'C.' Why? Because if the answer is placed as the first choice (answer 'A') or as the last thing the test taker sees (answer 'E') these answers POP more than they should. They instantly become MORE OBVIOUS in those positions.

So the test writers more often than not 'cloak' the correct answer amid the entire set of possible choices.

By taking a stab at placing your keywords in the middle of certain sentences, you make your keywords POP less. Thus making your keywords and your 'sales messages' far less obvious. Thus making it better.

Google takes a snapshot of each page it examines and caches (stores) that version as a back-up. The cached version is what Google uses to judge if a page is a good match for your query. Practically every search result includes a Cached link. Clicking on that link takes you to the Google cached version of that web page, instead of the current version of the page. This is useful if the original page is unavailable because of:
• Internet congestion
• A down, overloaded, or just slow website
• The owner's recently removing the page from the Web
Sometimes you can access the cached version from a site that otherwise require registration or a subscription. Since Google's servers are typically faster than many web servers, you can often access a page's cached version faster than the page itself. If Google returns a link to a page that appears to have little to do with your query, or if you can't find the information you're seeking on the current version of the page, take a look at the cached version.

PageRank (PR) relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. DSL or xDSL is a group of technologies that provide digital data transfer over the telephone network. DSL originally stood for digital subscriber loop, but is now commonly referred to as digital subscriber line. The typical transfer speeds of DSL services range from 128 kilobits per second to 24,000 kbit/s. DSL technology was originally begun as a part of the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN). ISDN is a series of protocals designed implemented to allow for digital transmission of voice and data over the telephone networks standard copper wires. This resulted in better speeds and quality than the old analog system.

Most Common Forms of DSL

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is a form of DSL that enables faster transmission of data over these same copper wires than a standard dial up modem can. The drawback to ADSL is that it is ony effective over relatively short distances. The user must be within 5 km of the telephone companies Central Office. This is allows a single phone line to be used for both voice and data transfer.

The most distinguishing characteristic of ADSL is that data transmission speeds are greater in one direction than the other. This is often marketed to small businesses or residential users who are most interested in accessing the internet at an affordable price. It allows for higher download speeds, thus decreasing the users time to view websites and download files. This is not recommended if one has a need to upload large quantities of information or run servers that would require large amounts of bandwidth in the other direction.

Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) is a DSL variant that enables the user to have the same data transfer rate in both directions. This technology has a transfer speed range of 72 to 2320 kbit/s. The primary drawback is that you must be even closer to the telephone companies central office. A maximum distance of 3 km is all that is supported. It is also much more expensive.

Typical DSL technologies include:

Okay, so the solution to that loading time is to set all the values explicitly, right? So now we see another downside. Code clutter that increases loading time. First of all, just by themselves, tables take allot of code. How many td open and close tags does your average table based layout have? Tons. Having to set all the values explicitly only adds to the page size and loading time.

Easier to Read Code

If you are using standard code, semantic document conventions, and a tableless layout, your code can be so clean that it looks practically like just regular text with a few extra symbols. That is a great benefit because it not only makes it easier for you to update, but it makes it easier for a non-technical user to make small alterations to. Additionally, if you work as a web developer in a more freelance capacity, it is common for there to be a full-time web developer who has to maintain that site. When you create a page using a table-layout, you are rather unfortunately locked into a certain layout. This can be, needless to say, quite tiresome. Ease of printing style control is a huge benefit with a tableless layout. You can easily create a single new printing style that applies to all your pages, instead of making them individually. That alone is a huge time saver, but there is more. While you can control all elements with this approach, the biggest key is organization of information within the page itself. Using the example, let's assume that the display order we want all our pages to print using the following order: The page header first, the content next, the special news after that, then the link list, and then the footer. However! We still want it to display as it would normally when viewing (meaning the header at the top, the links on the left, content in the middle, news on the right, and footer at the bottom). With a table-based layout, you would have to create a new page to do that special printing organization because the print style will read your columns left to right. With a table-less layout, you are not bound by this. You can order the content in your page however you like, and still control the way it looks... all by using the CSS only! Additionally, because we can put the content in whatever order we want in the HTML, and then move the content blocks around for website viewing using CSS - we can have ultimate control over presentation.

Websites that make their customers work to read them are not the best way to get business. Miniscule fonts, text in colors that make it hard to see against the background color, and lines that are piled on top of each other are problems, but they're easy to correct. Let's jump right in and look at five easy fixes:

1. Format your text using CSS.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are the way to go - use one style sheet and control how text looks on your entire site. Make a change to the style sheet and your whole site is updated. It makes life a lot simpler.

2. Make the font size big enough to read.

Consider your target audience. Even if they are a group of teenage girls looking for new shoes, it's never a good idea to use tiny type. It doesn't have to be enormous, but up to a point, larger type is better. 12-pt Verdana is better than 8-pt Verdana.

3. Make the text contrast with its background.

The more contrast, the better. Black-on-white or white-on-black are examples of the highest contrast you can get. Use colors if you like, but if you squint at the page and your text basically vanishes, there's not enough contrast.

4. Give the lines room to breathe.

Don't stack lines on top of each other. Use the line-spacing directive in CSS and give it some space; I'll often set line-spacing to 140% of the height of a typical line.

5. Break text up into chunks.

No matter how good a writer you are, people don't want to read endless pages of text. Break it up by using headlines that reflect the subject of the paragraph(s) to follow so people can scan down to the parts that really interest them, or use bulleted lists to change the pace of the writing and slow down the scanning.

Google calendar is slick. I love this thing. I have overlayed 4 sub-calendars and now I can see them all in one place. The sub-calendars retain their individuality because they are color coded. If you want a super cheap, as in free, calendar for your business, church, or other group then this is a great solution. But, when Google calendar initially came out, there was no built-in way to publish your calendar to HTML. That was a real bummer. You usually create these types of calendars to share them with others.

Since that time, Google has made HTML versions of calendars available. That has been great. To get an HTML version of your calendar, go to "Manage Calendars" and then click on your calendar name, you will now find an HTML button to publish your calendar. Now, click on the "configuration tool" to get the HTML to copy to your webpage. The easiest solution to get this onto your web site is to make a link. Simply copy the HTML that Google provided and copy it into a link.

Just remember that you have made your calendar publicly available. If you don't want others to see it, you should not do it this way. People can find calendars by searching on Google calendar for publicly available calendars. Now, having said that, you can add other cool features to your calendar. Search for calendars that relate to your calendar topic area. You will be amazed at what is out there. For instance, let's say you have a Nascar site. You would love an easy way to display a Nascar Craftsman Truck schedule. Do a search on Nascar for public calendars. Voila, it's already been made publicly available. All you have to do is add it to your website. How nice is that?

Webpage Templates are increasingly popular in several types of websites. The hottest area of the web, weblogging, gets thousands of new writers, visitors, and designers everyday. Many of these bloggers have joined with one of the dominant forces in weblogging – WordPress. Why WordPress? It’s simple to use, yet has a good range of features, and it’s fully supported not only by wordpress.org but by a large segment of the blogging community as well.

I have studied what has been made available in WordPress Templates – both free and for sale. After a lot of looking I decided to present the highlights of my findings – Free vs Sold WordPress Themes.

In the category of Free WordPress Themes my favorite list has 960 WordPress Templates and is found at Emily Robbins' Blog. Emily has done a great job here. Her website has been around for a while so all of the 960 available themes are still being downloaded.

While I was searching for Free WordPress themes I found two other websites that offer some variety. WordPress itself offers 444 different blog templates at no charge at themes.wordpress.net. Good designs with an array of colors and features are available. “Green Earth” is my favorite, but they’ve had 352,130 downloads of their 638 various themes to date.

Another excellent website is AlexKing.org. This site published 135 free, new WordPress themes some time ago in a competition and they have proven to be very popular with numerous downloads for the blogging crowd. Prize winners are named in several categories, and all 135 blog templates may be downloaded there. My favorite in the competition is titled "Chocolate Candy".

As for finding a unique, or more exclusive, WP theme you will have to hire a designer or buy a template for a one time download (or at least for a limited number of downloads). For commercial blogging, or for anyone who wants a distinctive look, an exclusive skin may be the best solution. New designers or experienced designers with budget or schedule constraints can get one of these templates and be operational in a hurry.

Website speed: How fast should your website be?

How fast does your website load and how fast should it be? People in the industry often talk about the mythical “sub-second page load”, but how many websites actually deliver sub-second response times and is it a realistic goal or expectation?

The most popular websites on the web today do load quickly. For example, yahoo.com and google.com which contain simple text and a few small images load on average in 1 second which is admirable. Amazon.com which has dynamic content and numerous images weighs in at a hefty 5 seconds on average. At the far end of the scale the popular online auction house, eBay.com, can take even longer to load.

The Internet giants don’t meet the gold standard of page load response times; therefore, should you be worried that your website doesn’t load in less than 1 second. Yes and no. The obvious bottom-line is to have your web pages load as quickly as possible, while taking into account business objectives for your website.

E-commerce websites, which have more images and use a database back-end, will take longer to render a web page. For websites that contain pages with more than 10 images shown on a web page, consider two suggestions:

First, host images on a separate web server than the main web server. This allows a web page to load quickly in the client’s browser. To the user, the page will appear to load very quickly, even though the entire page has not completely loaded all of the images.

Second, don’t run the database server for the website on the same machine as the web server. When push comes to shove for machine resources, both the web server and database server will slug it out and slow all operations down.

For all websites, consider server side caching your best friend. The .NET framework includes useful built-in caching to conserve server resources and offers a considerable boost in performance over standard ASP driven websites. Also recommended is Port 80 Software’s httpZip which can handle web pages, regardless of how they are created whether it is ASP, ASP.NET, php, or vanilla HTML.

In conclusion, set realistic goals for your website’s page load times. Take into account all of the pieces of software needed to create the pages on your website and constantly work on different aspects to achieve performance gains.

How I created a Website with a Google page rank of PR6 and generated more than 1000 visitors a week (and climbing)

This Article is a weblog or roadmap if you like of how I created a successful website starting in March 2006 to the current date August 21st 2006

My journey started in March when I had this urging to create an e-commerce website. I stumbled across a webinar of Brad Fallon (No relation) recorded at a seminar in Mexico. Being impressed with his lecture I purchased his Product “Stomping the Search Engines” at the same time and from the same source I discovered that one of Brads’ partner’s Andy Jenkins had created an e-commerce site building course based on a product developed by the biggest name on the Internet, YAHOO.

March was a busy time for learning and as usual working for a living kept getting in the way of progress. So I would listen to brad’s Audio CD course on my daily travels. Amongst the many resources included within Brad’s course included Brad Callen’s Linking exchange and one of the finest PDFs written on linking, POWER LINKING by Jack Humphrey.

We are still in March and so far I have learned what the big three Search Engines really want. How to build an e-commerce store with the Internet’s biggest name. An incredibly efficient way of generating links with very little effort and a whole new way of generating traffic through linking that I would never even have conceived or considered.

Everything seemed to be happening in reverse, I had studied all the traffic generating techniques but I hadn’t even looked at the building of the website. Through Jack’s Power Linking report I learned of another incredibly important tool, in fact the most important tool for any successful website… Content, fresh original regular content.

It made sense if you wanted the spiders to crawl and index your site on a regular basis. You needed to give them something to keep coming back for. Brilliant!!! But where would I get all this content from to keep the spiders well fed and “doing an Oliver” (coming back for more)?

Content Desk and Content Propulsion Lab was the answer. I was lead here by Jacks POWER LINKING course, not only did CD and CP have the content, they also had the automation of inputting the content into the site on a daily basis with very little effort. I promptly signed up as a member of Content Desk and discovered a whole new world of Internet Publishing. I was definitely on to something big. The CD people opened my eyes to a whole new internet with things I hadn’t heard of on the outside. Not only did I have a regular supply of content and the automated way of distribution, I also had all the website building tools and hosting I needed as part of the membership. and I was introduced to another succesful internet Marketer, John Reese.

We are now at the end of March and I have everything I need except time, working for a living was once again holding up progress and in April I had a lot of travelling to do. Let me tell you I went through some printing cartridges and late nights during April. I actually managed to get my site built during this month but tt still required some fine tuning. All the while I was learning new techniques for generating traffic. I started writing Articles on my subject matter and I discovered that purchasing Links on other peoples sites was very popular.

Directory submissions - do they work?

There is a growing discussion among webmasters whether it is worth it to submit to the directories. Some says it helps, while others disagree. Some think that it's not worth to spend a lot of time to submit sites to a large number of directories, claiming that it's worthless.

Those who disagree say the following:

* Search engines have essentially replaced directories
* Listing from general directories is poor link building through links only
* Niche directories help better in ranking well and with some free traffic
* Though some directories are good, most others are useless

Those who are in favor of directory submissions say directories are helpful to boost page rank and in generating unique website traffic, if:

* The submissions are done manually
* If directories are search engine friendly
* If directories have good page rank
* If submission is made to relevant category

They also say submitting to website directories takes only a few minutes, and can never really hurt anything.

Now if you take a closer look you can see that no hurt is caused from directory submissions. It's only time that you have to spend. In return you can expect what all webmasters are seeking: traffic and better search engine position in the rankings.

Not all free directories are bad. If you don't submit it won't hurt you, but you could miss a potential opportunity. On the other hand, if directories actually show up as results for the terms you are optimizing for, submitting to the directories is the same as submitting to the "niche directories".

So if you're considering submitting but time holds you back, you can outsource the directory submission job to a group of people or company somewhere else in the world where labor is lower.

If you do a quick search in Google, you can find a lot of directory submission service providers who do an excellent, efficient job. All you have to do pay a small amount and the job will usually be finished in a number of days.

Spyware- Are you safe online?

Arguably one of the greatest inventions the world has ever known. The internet has opened up the business world; it allows people to communicate across vast distances, cheaper and easier than ever before. There is a world of information at your finger tips. More and more people are getting connected and taking advantage of the great wealth afforded by the net. There are however some fairly serious down sides, identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes. By taking advantage of unprotected surfers, stealing their personal details, hackers can run up huge bills in someone else’s name and walk away undetected.

They say 90% of all PCs are infected with some form of spyware. Spyware is simply a little piece of software that installs itself onto your PC and literally spies on anything you do online. One way, the creators of such software nasties, are using to deliver their cargo is exploiting the popularity of Internet video clips, piggy backing on the latest funny videos. Spyware comes in many guises, Mal ware, Ad ware, Key Loggers, diallers to name but a few. They all aim to do the same thing, that is rob you of your personal data and generate revenue for there creators.

Key loggers for example, simply record every keystroke you make whilst online; broadcasting this data to someone else’s PC somewhere out there in cyber space. Not a good thing when you are buying your latest ‘widget’ from 'widgets R us’ and are typing in your credit card details, or when you are moving money around through online banking. Unfortunately however secure the website at ‘widgets r us’ is, the problem lies on the PC in front of you now. The key logging software is sat on your PC recording all the details you type in and sending this data to some remote computer. It could be too the far side of the world, or it could be to a PC next door, who knows where it ends up.

There is little ‘widgets R us’ can do as the next time you appear to visit their website they see the same details typed in, the same passwords and they greet you back again. The difference is of course it’s not you this time, it’s some cyber thief, buying your favourite widgets and you’re the one paying for it.

The good news is it’s not that complicated or expensive to protect yourself in the cyber world.

The first step to online security is to get a personal firewall. This monitors the data coming and going over your internet connection, acting as a shield alerting you to anything suspicious trying to broadcast from your PC.

The next essential thing on the list is a good spyware removal software; this will clean up your computer. The good news is there are a few freebies that work really well. Isn't it interesting how we always seem to take for granted some of the most significant technological breakthroughs that have helped propel our society into the 21st century? Internet access is one such technology that has changed the way we work, live, and play. We use the Internet for personal communication, our finances, entertainment, dating, news, research, and much more. However, it's amazing when asked, "Who created the Internet?" the usual answer is a simple "I don't know". The creation of the Internet was a pretty large technical undertaking that took many years to perfect and would require a great deal of your time if explained in complete detail. In the late 1960s, the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) developed by ARPA of the U.S. Department of Defense created a network of computers that were all linked together. The article goes on further to quote Jeff Chester, head of the digital Center for Digital Democracy saying "Google could easily become the poster child for a national public movement to regulate data collection".

Lets take a look at Google's new analytics tool. As a reporting tool, Google Analytics offers good features and functionality. Google Analytics tells publishers who their website referrers are, what pages visitors are viewing, the length of the visitor stay, what items are purchased. Google Analytics data can be used to develop new technologies, and optimize pay per term influence ranking.

Google wants to make money, and like it or not, data is a commodity. Google will likely use the data from their various ventures to develop new technologies and personalize content. Conspiracy theorists believe that the Google's aggregate data will also be used to optimize the fees charged for pay-per-click, influence organic ranking or worse yet sold.

Unbeknownst to many users, privacy advocates say that Google's technology give Google the ability to collect enormous amounts of data about interests and online habits of web surfers. That said, Google's growth will continue to motivate privacy advocates and those in the technology field behind the Attention Truste movement to work together, to improve how personal information and subscription information is used online. I expect we will see a lot of energy and effort in this arena.

Lets face it, Google wants to make money; no, now that they are public they *need* to make money and like it or not, data is a commodity. Whether Google will use your data or not is still to be determined, but the fact remains they can if they choose to. Google's storage capacity, is as deep as its pockets, meaning that it is far ahead of competitors. All of this has motivated privacy advocates and eyes are on and will continue to be focused on Google and the type of data they are capable of collecting.

Every webmaster wants links (possibly a lot of them!). That's not surprisingly because links from other sites are not only a source of traffic, but also a very important factor that helps a site to rank well in search engines results.

Apparently submitting your site to web directories is one of the quickest ways to get links, but getting listed is sometimes much more difficult than it may seem.

The problem is that web directories are swamped by a large number of low quality submissions: poorly designed web sites, web sites without any original content or created only to display advertisements and so on.

For this reason directory editors review hundreds of sites per day and accept only those complying to a very strict set of guidelines. There are days, and I talk by personal experience, when more than 90% of submissions are rejected, in many case without even the need to visit the site simply because of a poorly written submission.

If you want to increase your chances to see your site listed, it's essential to understand what informations you are required to provide about your site and how to properly submit them.

At least title, description and url are required by all directories.

Web site title

Directories have more or less restrictive rules about what you can or cannot have as your site title. Some allow only your official domain name or company name, others are more liberal.

In any case a good title should never exceed 4-5 words. Using a long list of keywords as title (keyword stuffing), excessive repetitions and inappropriate punctuation must be absolutely avoided.

Web site description

Many sites are rejected due to an inappropriate description. A description is not an advertisement and should never contain superlatives or excessive marketing hype.

Directory listings are usually searchable by words contained both in title and description so the keywords commonly used to find your site should be included in your site description. However always write 2-3 complete sentences that sound natural, do not make your description a long list of keywords.

Web site URL

You would say that people should at least be able to correctly submit their own web site url. If you work as directory editor for a while you will change your mind! It happens quite frequently that a site is rejected simply because of a mistyped url.

Never type your site url directly into the submission form. Test it in your browser, save it in a text file and copy and paste from there.

Each directory can have some other specific rules, so be sure to carefully read the submission guidelines and comply to any special requirement.

It's said that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression: directory editors read the informations you submit before visiting your web site and even before deciding if your web site is worth a visit. Learn to properly write your submissions and you will greatly increase the chances to have your web site accepted.

Swiss Army Knife of Internet Marketing Tools, Part 1

Many people have asked me over the last few years what are the most absolute tools that an internet marketer should have. I actually had to take a step back, think about it and begin to process the tools that I love having from the tools that I would absolutely need to engage in internet marketing.

I have named this article "Swiss Army Knife of Internet Marketing Tools," as I will list out the tools that I would find not only necessary, but mandatory for anyone beginning their quest to start an internet marketing business.

In fact, I would even take it one step further and say that if you dropped me off in any city in the world (well…a city with internet capability…I know…demanding aren't I) that I could have an internet marketing business and products for sale within 5 or so days. (In part II of this series I will tell you exactly what I would do in those 5 days to create this business, with part III of this series being an overview of the Luxury tools that I enjoy that can take any internet marketing business to the next level).

Ok, so let's dive right in with the basics.

First, and most obviously, you would need a domain name for your product or service. This is an essential element, as this is the location that you will store your product or service and the website it sits on. You would need hosting to accompany this domain; however, I generally don't recommend buying your domain from the same company you plan on hosting with.

There are numerous reasons for this, most of them logistical, but let me simply state that it is not in our "best practices" to buy the domain from the same company we plan on hosting with…and generally you can find great prices on domains.

Next, you would need some form of ability to create web pages. Now, this can be done in a variety of ways, obviously depending on an individual's skill level, but in the end you need some way to manipulate HTML code. Front Page by Microsoft is one popular program, with Dreamweaver being a much more robust and feature rich program. Now, bear in mind, both of these programs are going to require the user to have some form of HTML knowledge, so, for the purposes of this article, and the "Swiss Army Knife" approach, I will assume that the average user does not have any HTML capability.

So, in my searches high and low throughout the vast world of the internet, I would definitely recommend a product like the "Motivated Marketing System". This is a system, rather than one simple tool, that enables someone to build an entire site and infrastructure without knowing a stitch of HTML. Written brilliantly, with a huge degree of intuitive programming, this is one tool that needs to be on the "Swiss Army Knife".

Now, while I can think of a myriad of tools that I would like to have at this point to begin promoting my site (Part III will get into those tools), I am going to keep these to a minimum.

Now, that we have the domain, we have a hosting account, we have the site produced, we need to get the site from the computer to the domain by using some form of FTP product. Not being a very technical person myself, it is important to use products and services that do not require me to have a vast degree of technical ability. I have found "Smart FTP" (a free service) to be just that. By simply installing this program on your computer, adding your user name and password one time, you are set to upload anything you want to your new domain.

*When possible-if leary-order via Clickbank as they will grant you the best buyer protection of any online merchant service.They will reverse the charges on the spot within 60 days-no questions asked-if you feel you've been dealt a wrong.Plus,their phone number will accompany every single transaction they do on every single credit card statement. Yes,you want to put stock in that as many cyber merchants DO NOT.

*This ties into the previous one.Avoid a service that will collect your money upfront while claiming it will be in excess of 60 days before they can deliver the said results. It can be done much quicker and it is a warning sign as they full well know that you would have no recourse in being refunded due to the time elapsed.

In the past 6 months several articles have been written to offer tools, helps & any advice on the power of writing articles and submitting these to many online ezines. In fact the word ezines is just becoming a known keyword in the web world.

If you have a site and want to generate a buzz ad get traffic you need to submit your article to ezines. In this article I will not go into the best methods of writing these articles and as most of you know by now it is not that easy to write an article and have it approved by these ezine companies. What we do want to accomplish here is the best way to go about submitting your articles.

There are a handful of very well developed ezine sites that if you do write articles you want to submit to. The problem that is most often heard is the time it takes to submit the article to all of these sites. Recently there has been a rush on developers to create programs that will do this for you automatically. There is a positive and a negative to this process.

Lets talk about the Negative first. Here are a list of reasons why you shouldn’t use these programs: 1. These programs are still newly developed and the software developers of these programs may not have tested these fully before handing these out to everyone. 2. There are reports of some programs that do not work at all and cause serious damage to PCs. One such company is called Submita www.submitaarticle.com (see below for quote from Submita) 3. Many of the ezines have a bio attached and the way the bio works is different for each site and if you are promoting more then 1 site then you need multiple bios and will need multiple submit programs these typically only handle 1 account which means you need more then 1 computer. 4. Duplicate content is another big issue. If you put submit article in several locations this can count against you.

Quote: In a recent attempt to explain the PC corruption caused by Submita (an article submission software) their response was: “Please note that we have stated clearly on our webpage that we provide you a fully functional free trial with no restrictions so that you can try the software before you buy it. Lets take a look at the positive in using these types of programs: 1. This will save you hours of sitting in front of computer logging in and out each time for each ezine site 2. Though there are some programs that do not even work there are programs that do work. One of them is Instant Article Submitter made by Rod Beckwith and Jeff Alderson and this program has nothing but great reviews and the reputation of Rob & Jeff are nothing but the best. There are other programs and other sites that do work as well if you want more information contact us directly. 3. If submitting multiple articles is an issue then do the submission and take the time to login to each account and assign the bio to it… that is still easier then doing the whole part and hopefully these programs will note this and allow users to have multiple accounts to manage on 1 program. 4. Though the article you are submitting is duplicate it still counts as back links for your site and the better you get your site ranked with back links the better you will in the search engines.

Keep in mind that every time you submit an article you are generating hype about the service or product and creating a reputation on the web as a trusted source.

One last tip is if you have a new product make sure to create a buzz about that product and name and watch as you create a new keyword on the search engines.

Building a useable website can seem daunting. Here is a quick guideline to help you on your way.

1.It's all about your content

To get your website listed appropriately the content of your website needs to be nested between the tags. This way it gets read by the search engines. Your content also needs to be unique and get your point across.What is it about your product or service that is better and different from your competitions. This is called your usp or unique selling proposition and should be conveyed clearly and immediately upon hitting the page.

2.Make effective use of your title and description tags

These are your two most important tags when it comes to referencing your page content. Meta keywords rarely have any impact what so ever on your pages listings.

3.Make sure content is well formatted

It is very important to break up your content with italics, bold text, bulleted lists, etc. Well formatted content makes your pages more accessible to visitors but the search engines also. Visitors scan across your page rather than read it so it makes sense to format your page so it can be browsed yet still convey your message.

4.Proper code

Having proper progamming in place is quite simply a must. Web standards have changed substantially over the years and it is important to make sure your pages validate both html and css. Think of it this way. How effective could you get your point across if you were talking swahili. Your code is no different. Why make it difficult for the search bots to index your content.

5.Do not use Front Page, Dreamweaver, or any other WYSIWYG editor.

While accurate, MS Front Page, for example, makes it easy for just about anyone to throw up a web page it doesn't take W3C compliancy into account Hence the code it outputs is an absolute train wreck. This is terminal for your website as you need a strong code base (foundation) or your site will never stand up to the competitions.

6.Don't design in Flash

Seemingly technical in nature or "neat" perhaps flash animation only serves to distract visitors from what they came to your site for in the first place, your product or service. Your services are what visitors are interested in not a blinking, noisy, website. Flash also creates major problems with getting it properly indexed. There is no way for the search engines to extract content from your website as it is all contained with in the swf. If you absolutely must have a flash page it is imparitive to offer an html version as well.

7.Easy on the eyes

Graphical elements play a huge role in a website design as well. You need to make sure you don't have any extreme contrasts between colors and that you don't use really bright colors as they are quite hard on the eyes. If you watched the video above, you can clearly see that the two founders don't appear to be exceptionally bright or business savvy. Yet, they've just made a bucket-load of cash.

This is a small exploration of how a brilliant marketing scheme has taken the web by storm. It deals with the changes advertisers and publishers and even website visitors have undergone ever since AdSense has become a daily part of our on-line lives.

Even before AdSense came out a lot of people were advertising through AdWords. It ensured a lot of publicity through getting your site listed at the top in Google search queries. It took away a lot of the pain and price of SEO and the large amount of time you had to wait until you were finally on top. It made launching a website, a realistic way to instant profitability instead of a long term strategy with no immediate returns.

The proliferation of such sites has, however, given rise to a new problem - the overall quality of the articles users pay for. Good (and reliable) writers are snapped up fast and given ongoing work. Regrettably, some PLR site owners seem to be only concerned with getting a batch of articles uploaded no matter what the quality.

Competition, as we all know, is a GOOD thing. Quite a number of Private Label Rights member are now making a practice of signing up to check out the quality of what's on offer in a new site. If they like it, they stay. If they don't - they vote with their feet, or more appropriately, with the 'cancel this subscription' option at PayPal.)

Don't feel that you have to accept the articles you get no matter what the quality. You are entitled to get articles and/or ebooks that have been proofread and edited to correct grammar and spelling. PLR users expect to have to tweak and change an article to create unique website content. They should not, however, have to edit every article.
